2016-03-10
The Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) has issued a guidance document clarifying their enforcement of the Children’s Safe Product Act (CSPA) lead, cadmium, and phthalates requirements.
The WA DOE intends to enforce applicable requirements for lead, cadmium and phthalates on those children’s products that are defined within the CSPA that are not in scope of federal law. The requirements of the CSPA apply to children’s cosmetics, children’s jewelry, toys, car seats and childcare articles which include all clothing.
